Record Album Covers

How would I clean pencil and ink marks from a record album cover?

  1. try canned hairspray on the ink. it may well work for the pencil. the hairspray will work if it's ballpoint ink. may work for other inks also, but definitely ball point ink. spray it on and BLOT it up. don't rub it, blot it. any canned hairspray not the spritz on kind. good luck to ya
  2. If you can, go to an art supply store and get a 'putty eraser'. This should be touched lightly but firmly to the stain so that it lifts the stain, rather than rubbed across like a rubber eraser would be. It will shift all sorts of marks without damage to the sleeve or the label.
