I want to hang 9 album frames symmetrically on my wall, but I suck?

Hello, Can anyone help me hang 9 album frames on my wall? I want them 3x3 evenly spaced on my wall, and I don't want them to come out lop-sided, so I'm asking for help on here before I completely screw up. I'd like them to be 4 inches apart. Thank you!!

  1. if the frames are three feet across then the point you want to set the wall anchor/nail to center them would be 18 inches. if you want four inches of space between them that would make the space between the wall anchors/nails 22 inches. use a level (the longer the better) to ensure uniform height of anchor points. if the wall is square, and the floor is level, you can use a tape measure to get uniform height. measure from ground up to anchor point. if the albums have picture hanging wire on the back, adjustment is more forgiving. typically, best place to hang pictures on wall are at eye level. i'd also recommend googling "molly bolts" or "toggle bolts". since it's unlikely you'll hit a wall stud. those are sturdy drywall anchors vs. the plastic expanding ones.
  2. neuro----, I think he means he wants to make three rows of three. 3 x 3 = 9. We don't know how big each picture frame is, so we cannot tell him what the spacing of the hangars need to be. The 4" between each one, both horizontally and vertically tells us nothing. However, I would suggest making 9 cardboard templates, the same size as the picture frames and position them on the wall so you can mark the exact location of the hangars. neuros' methods of hanging are good suggestions.
  3. find the horizontal center of your wall, (total length divide by 2) mount first frame. place next frame to the left side. measure from wall center 18 inches +4 inches (spacing) +18 inches to the center of the next frame. hang frame. repeat process on right side. now 1 row of 3 frames are mounted. i cant help on the next 2 rows as we dont know how many inches up the mounts are on the back of the frame, assuming all the mounts are placed the same height on each frame you can repeat the original steps for the next 2 rows of frames,1 above and 1 row below the first 3 frames, wish i had more info. frames with wire for mounting are almost impossible to hang evenly spaced. hard mounts are easier and one on each top corner will help to keep them from being un-level. use a level and chalk line if possible. good luck
